Grants to unlock opportunities and expand Australia's space sector

Overview

Competitive grants to support Australian organisations (industry and publicly funded research organisations) to undertake collaborative space projects with Indian organisations, building capability, capacity and commercial links with the Indian space sector and ISRO.

Eligibility Criteria

Lead applicant must be an entity incorporated in Australia or a publicly funded research organisation (Australian lead required to enter the grant agreement).

Applicants must provide evidence of support from their board or CEO (or equivalent executive) that they can complete the project and meet project costs not covered by the grant.

Projects must have at least $1,000,000 in eligible expenditure (minimum grant award).

Applicants must provide evidence of support from Indian partnering organisation(s) to demonstrate links to India's space industry/supply chains.

Applicants must demonstrate that a minimum of 80% of the investment will be made in Australia for the benefit of Australian space industry organisations.

Projects are expected to be completed by March 2026.

Joint applications are encouraged but must have an Australian lead.

Required supporting documents include:

  • project plan, project budget, evidence of board/CEO support, letter of support or MOU from Indian partner(s), letters of support from each project partner (trustee if applicable)
  • templates are provided on the Business Grants (BGA/business.gov) page
