Funding for small businesses, not-for-profits and primary producers impacted by Tropical Cyclone Alfred
Grants to assist directly impacted Queensland primary producers, small businesses and not-for-profit organisations with costs of clean-up, reinstatement and immediate resumption following Tropical Cyclone Alfred and associated severe weather (1–16 March 2025).
Funding can be used to hire or purchase equipment and materials, pay additional labour, remove debris, repair infrastructure (excluding housing) and other recovery costs.
To be eligible applicants must:
- hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and have held that ABN at the time of the disaster
- be located in the defined disaster area for Tropical Cyclone Alfred and Associated Severe Weather (1–16 March 2025) and have suffered direct damage as a result of the eligible disaster
- be primarily responsible for meeting the costs claimed in the application
- intend to re-establish the undertaking in the same area
- and have been engaged in carrying on the small business or primary production enterprise when affected
Primary producer applicants must meet the Scheme definition of primary producer (can be a sole trader who spends majority of labour on the enterprise and derives or will derive the majority of income from it, or a partnership/company/trust where partners/shareholders/beneficiaries meet similar criteria).
Fishers with direct damage to equipment/vessels may be eligible.
Applicants may apply for multiple eligible separate businesses (subject to QRIDA assessment).
