Funding for NT primary producers impacted by an eligible disaster
A freight subsidy program that provides financial assistance to Northern Territory primary producers impacted by eligible disasters to help cover emergency transport freight costs.
It covers freight for emergency fodder, removal of stock, replacement of livestock buildings, fencing repairs, and machinery/equipment associated with livestock or replacing animals lost in the event.
To be eligible, you must:
- be a primary producer and a Territory Enterprise
- hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN)
- have been providing goods and/or services to the public wholly or substantially in the Northern Territory at the time of the incurred losses in an eligible impacted area
NT primary producers located in an eligible local government area.
Specific eligible primary producers listed include those impacted by the Daly River Flood (February 2026) in the LGA of Victoria Daly Regional Council, and primary producers impacted by Severe Tropical Cyclone Fina (November 2025) in the LGAs of Belyuen Community Government Council, City of Darwin, City of Palmerston, Coomalie Community Council, Cox–Daly Unincorporated Area, Litchfield Council, Marrakai–Douglas Daly Unincorporated Area, Tiwi Islands Regional Council, Victoria Daly Regional Council, Wagait Shire Council, West Arnhem Regional Council, and West Daly Regional Council.
