Building environmental-friendly communities

The Communities Environment Program provides funding for small, community-led environment projects in each of the 151 electorates across Australia.

It supports local community and environment groups to address local environmental priorities and to recover and strengthen the environment and local communities.

Applicants must be invited to apply by their local Federal Member of Parliament.

The grant request must be between $2,500 and $20,000.

The grant can contribute up to 100% of eligible project costs.

Projects must be completed by 31 December 2020.

Applicants may start their project from the date they submit their application, but if they start before an executed grant agreement they do so at their own risk.

Projects that receive funding from another Commonwealth, State, Territory or local government grant cannot be funded under this program; applicants may apply under more than one government program but if successful must choose either the Communities Environment Program grant or the other government grant.
