High quality internships for WA food and beverage sector businesses
Provides high-quality, fully facilitated 200-hour STEM student internships that connect Western Australian food and beverage businesses with local tertiary students.
CSIRO (WAFEC) assists with project scoping and recruitment, the host business employs the student and receives a $2,500 payment on completion, with additional travel funding available for regional placements.
To be eligible, businesses must:
- be a registered business, operating for more than one year
- be located in WA, or have an office located in WA
- be operating within the food and/or beverage sector, as a producer, manufacturer or technology provider
- have a minimum of 3 employees, with at least one able to provide guidance and mentorship to the student intern
- hold relevant insurances, including wok cover and public liability
Students eligible: any student currently completing a tertiary STEM qualification (undergraduate or postgraduate university qualification or vocational education and training) in a relevant STEM discipline.
