GO8651: Thriving Kids - First Nations Early Years Best Practice and Capability Building
This grant opportunity will fund SNAICC – National Voice for Our Children to deliver the Thriving Kids First Nations Early Years Best Practice and Capability Building Activity, supporting the Commonwealth’s commitment to provide dedicated First Nations national workforce activities.
Funding will be provided over a 5-year period.
The activity aims to ensure First Nations voices inform the design and implementation of Thriving Kids, strengthen the capability of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) sector to identify and support children with developmental delay and autism, and improve the cultural safety and responsiveness of mainstream providers.
The grant will be delivered through a two-stream approach.
This includes ongoing collaboration between the Commonwealth, SNAICC, cross sector peaks and states and territories, to ensure that national activities align with and inform local implementation and priorities.
The activity will complement state and territory investments and promote collaboration across the early childhood, education, health and community services sectors.
The intended outcome is improved access to culturally safe and responsive Thriving Kids supports for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families, supported by a skilled and capable community-controlled workforce and culturally responsive mainstream providers.
