Funding for projects that improve digital connectivity across south east QLD

Overview

The Local Digital Priority Projects funding program supports place-based digital infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects that address local economic, business and social priorities across South East Queensland.

It funds projects that improve digital connectivity and productivity, build digital capability and inclusion, and support high-skilled industries and jobs.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be a legal entity, have an active Australian Business Number (ABN), be registered for goods and services tax (GST), have a registered place of business in an eligible location, and meet the specific eligibility requirements for the relevant funding stream.

Eligible locations are Brisbane, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Logan, Moreton Bay, Noosa, Redland, Scenic Rim, Somerset, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba.

Applicants may partner with other organisations to deliver an eligible project.

Stream 1 applicants must be either a local government that was a member of Council of Mayors South East Queensland as at 21 March 2022, or a private sector entity including for-profit businesses.

Stream 2 and 3 applicants may be such local governments or private sector entities, public sector entities including Queensland Government statutory bodies, Queensland Government-owned corporations, Queensland-based universities and Queensland-based research institutes, not-for-profit entities, regional economic development organisations, chambers of commerce, or community service organisations.

Projects must align with program objectives, fall within funding caps or another amount approved in writing by the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business, demonstrate funding for costs outside the grant funding, be located in an eligible location, and be capable of completion by 31 December 2028.

Digital infrastructure applicants must own and operate the project site or have site-owner approval to access, construct, maintain and operate the infrastructure.
