GO6892: Defence Industry Development Grants Program - Security Stream

The Defence Industry Development Grants Program (the program) will award grants over four years from 2024-25 to 2027-28.

The program was announced as part of the Defence Industry Development Strategy.

The objective of the program is to build the industrial base Australia needs to achieve Defence outcomes in areas of strategic priority.

The Defence Industry Development Grants Program funds four distinct grant opportunity streams tailored to address the program outcomes: Sovereign Industrial Priorities Skilling Exports Security.

The Security stream helps Australian defence industry improve and maintain security in priority areas as identified by the Sovereign Defence Industrial Priorities and in line with the Defence Industry Security Program.

Joint applications are acceptable with a lead organisation that is eligible.

Projects must be undertaken in Australia, include eligible activities, and have at least $20,000 in eligible expenditure.

Projects must not exceed 18 months and must be completed by 2028-03-31.

Grants are up to 50% of eligible expenditure, minimum grant $10,000, maximum grant $100,000, and funding per ABN is capped at $200,000 in a three-year period.

For applications requesting more than $50,000, an accountant declaration evidencing the applicant can fund their share of project costs is required.
