Funding for QLD small businesses impacted by 2025 Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and severe weather

Overview

The Small Business Recovery Assistance Grant Program provides a single up-front payment to eligible small and family businesses substantially affected by the 2025 Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and severe weather event.

Funding supports businesses in defined Queensland disaster areas to re-establish operations, maintain employment and recover from disaster-related disruption.

Eligibility Criteria

The business must have been affected by the 2025 Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and severe weather event from 24 December 2025 to 24 April 2026.

It must be located in Carpentaria Shire Council, Cook Shire Council, Douglas Shire Council, Isaac Regional Council, McKinlay Shire Council or the Weipa Town Authority area.

The business must have fewer than 20 employees by headcount at both the time of the disaster and application; owners, non-executive directors and contractors are not included in this headcount.

It must have annual aggregated turnover of $10 million or less, an active ABN, and GST registration at both the time of the disaster and application.

For at least 14 consecutive days because of the disaster, it must either have been completely unable to trade or experienced at least a 70% decrease in revenue compared with the same 14-day period in the preceding year.

It must have been actively trading immediately before the disaster.

Businesses trading for less than 12 months must provide the specified BAS evidence under the application process.

The business must not be insolvent, and its owners/directors must not be currently bankrupt or undischarged from bankruptcy.
