Rebate for SA grape growers for purchase of plant growth regulator Ethephon

Overview

This program provides South Australian grape growers with a rebate to purchase the plant growth regulator Ethephon to reduce fruit set and allow vineyards to be rested.

The rebate is provided as a payment of $40 per hectare sprayed, available as part of a trial to reduce crop yield and lower management costs while market conditions improve.

Eligibility Criteria

SA grape growers.

Rebate is $40 per hectare sprayed to cover the cost of Ethephon, up to 1,000 hectares per Australian Business Number (ABN).

Applications will close 31 January 2026 or when the 5,000 hectare cap is reached.

The program provides SA grape growers the opportunity to participate in a trial using Ethephon to reduce crop yield and rest vineyards.
