Funding for TAS tourism businesses to install destination chargers
The Electric Vehicle Destination Charging Grant Program provides Tasmanian tourism businesses funding to install eligible electric vehicle destination chargers for overnight visitors.
Grants cover eligible charger purchase, installation infrastructure, signage and safety equipment, with chargers required to be permanently wired 240V AC units providing 7kW to 22kW charging.
To be eligible, a business must provide paid overnight accommodation to visitors on a commercial basis; be currently operating and physically located in Tasmania; have held a valid ABN for 12 months before the application date; and employ no more than 199 full-time equivalent employees.
Chargers must not have been commenced, contracted or completed before 10 August 2026 and must be operational by 15 June 2027.
Chargers must be installed by a licensed electrical contractor, be available only to visitors at dedicated EV parking spots, and be installed at a site owned by or under the direct control of the applicant, such as under a long-term lease.
