Funding to hold Aboriginal key cultural events and activities in NSW

Grants to Aboriginal community organisations in NSW to celebrate Aboriginal culture and hold cultural events and activities (eg. gatherings on Country, youth culture and wellbeing camps, digital installations, festivals, workshops).

Applicants must be an eligible Aboriginal-owned and controlled organisation delivering a service to Aboriginal communities within NSW (or a legal entity located in NSW or in a bordering community that delivers services to Aboriginal communities in NSW) and propose a project to be delivered in NSW.

Applicants must have public liability insurance of at least $10 million per claim (or be willing to purchase it as part of the application to support the project).

Applicants must have no outstanding requirements relating to previous funding from Aboriginal Affairs NSW.

Eligible applicant types explicitly listed include: Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), Aboriginal not-for-profit organisations, unincorporated Aboriginal community groups with an eligible auspice, Aboriginal sole traders or businesses whose primary business activity relates to cultural expression or revitalisation, registered Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporations, companies incorporated in Australia, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, incorporated associations, incorporated cooperatives, and incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust.

Projects must take place within NSW and meet the Cultural Grants Program objectives.

For projects needing delivery in specific early 2026 date ranges, earlier application cut-off dates apply (see program for exact cut-off dates).

Projects should start by 2026-01-23 and be completed by 2026-12-31.
