Funding for Murray–Darling Basin First Nations to develop cultural flows plans
Provides grants to Murray–Darling Basin First Nations to develop, update or complete cultural flows plans, strengthen governance for water-based aspirations and develop water-dependent business plans.
Grants fund planning, research, monitoring and governance work but cannot be used to buy water entitlements, water infrastructure or land.
Applicants must be First Nations groups or organisations recognised as Murray–Darling Basin Traditional Owners or able to demonstrate a traditional connection to the relevant Basin area.
A Murray–Darling Basin First Nations group can partner with another group to deliver an eligible project.
Joint applications must have a lead organisation who is the main driver.
Applicants must have an ABN; if they do not have an ABN they can work with a group that does and that group can hold the funds.
Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria set out in the grant opportunity guidelines.
