GO8330: Building Early Education Fund – Small-Scale Grant Opportunity

The purpose of the Small-Scale Grant Round is to provide capital grants to high-quality not-for-profit small providers to undertake construction for the delivery of new or expanded Centre-Based Day Care (CBDC) services.

Funding is also available to not-for-profit providers to modify buildings to facilitate the provision of in-venue Family Day Care (FDC) by a high-quality provider in areas where no ECEC is available.

Must be a legal entity established under Australian law; be a not-for-profit (NFP) organisation; have an Australian Business Number (ABN); be registered for GST; have an account with an Australian financial institution; not be an ineligible entity per section 4.3; meet project-type specific requirements.

For Centre-Based Day Care projects the organisation must currently hold provider approval under the Education and Care National Law and under the Family Assistance Law, currently operate 1–9 CBDC services (all providing education and care for which CCS is payable), be applying to build or expand and operate one new or expanded CBDC service (limit of one project site per application and one application per legal entity), propose a project delivering ECEC to 0–5 year olds, have a letter of support from the relevant local council if the applicant is not a local council, provide evidence of tenure over the project location (ownership, lease, or agreement to lease), and propose a project located in an Outer Suburb or an Inner Regional, Outer Regional, Remote or Very Remote area (as defined).

For in-venue Family Day Care projects the organisation must be an existing ECEC provider with approval under National Law and FAL, be willing to undertake/oversee required building modifications, have a letter of support from the relevant local council if not a local council, provide evidence of tenure over the location, and propose a location where no alternative ECEC is available.

Trustees acting for trusts must be an eligible entity type.
