GO8209: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce Organisations

Overview

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to grow and strengthen the capacity and capability of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workforce, and to contribute to increasing cultural safety across the broader health workforce.

This grant opportunity aligns with the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and Priority Reforms.

It recognises that self-determination, partnership and shared decision making as the best way to close the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible you must be one of the listed organisations in Table 2 (Australian Indigenous Doctors Association Ltd; Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives Limited; Indigenous Allied Health Australia Ltd; National Association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners Ltd) and have received an invitation to apply from the department.

Applicants must declare compliance with the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework, the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 requirements (where applicable), and the Australian Industry Participation National Framework where it applies.

Applicants must not be receiving other government funding for the same purpose or activity.
