Travel allowance for rural and regional South Australian businesses hiring and training apprentices
Provides travel and accommodation allowances to employers in rural or regional South Australia to assist with costs associated with hiring and training an apprentice or trainee.
Payments contribute to travel and accommodation when apprentices/trainees must travel long distances to a Nominated Training Organisation.
To be eligible to receive an allowance, an employer must employ an apprentice or trainee that:
- has an approved Training Contract registered in South Australia
- is required to travel in excess of 150 km (round trip) between their normal place of residence and the nearest training venue offering the apprenticeship/traineeship qualification
- and resides within a non-metropolitan area of South Australia
The business must be in rural or regional South Australia.
Attendance requirements outlined by the training provider should be checked and applicants are advised to read the program guidelines.
