Rebates for SA landholders and primary producers to control plague locusts
The Plague Locust Chemical Rebate provides reimbursement to eligible South Australian primary producers and landholders for approved products used to control plague locusts on eligible properties.
It reimburses eligible product purchase expenses, including delivery, up to $35 excluding GST per hectare sprayed after spraying has been completed.
Applicants must be a landowner, sharefarmer or lessee of a primary production property in an eligible area; hold an Australian Business Number (ABN); be registered for GST as of 2026-07-01; and not already have received reimbursement for purchased product under the 2026 rebate program for the same property.
Applicants must demonstrate they incurred expenses spraying locust hopper bands or adult swarms on their property in an eligible area.
Only one rebate application may be lodged per property, although applications for multiple properties may be submitted.
If a contractor undertakes spraying, the applicant must have purchased the product and receipts or invoices must be in the applicant's name.
Lessees or sharefarmers must agree with the landowner about who will lodge the application.
