GO8184: National Palliative Care Projects

The National Palliative Care Projects represent a long-standing commitment by the Australian Government to improve the quality, accessibility, and coordination of palliative care services across the country.

These projects have supported national leadership, innovation, and capacity-building in palliative care through investments in research, education, workforce development, and community engagement.

Applicants must be one of the eligible entity types listed in the guidelines (for example Company, Partnership, Indigenous corporation, corporate or non-corporate Commonwealth/State/Territory entities, Local Government, Cooperative, Incorporated Association, Statutory Entity).

If applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust, the Trustee must be an eligible entity.

Only a lead organisation (an eligible entity) may apply on behalf of a consortium and will be solely accountable to the Commonwealth.

Projects must be implemented nationally (accessible in every state and territory of Australia) from the outset and the maximum grant period is four years (projects must be completed by 2030-06-30).

Relevant personnel must hold required checks/qualifications where applicable (e.g.

Working with Children checks, Working with Vulnerable People registration, Australian Skills Quality Authority accreditation for training activities) and organisations with 100+ employees must meet Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 reporting/compliance requirements where applicable.

Applicants cannot receive other government funding for the same purpose.
