Funding for organisations to improve outcomes for Indigenous Australians

Overview

The Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) provides funding for organisations to undertake projects or activities that promote equal opportunities and improved outcomes for Indigenous Australians.

Funding supports work across multiple priority areas including jobs, land and the economy; children and schooling; safety and wellbeing; culture and capability; remote Australia strategies; and research and evaluation.

The Australian Government has allocated funding to the IAS (including $7.2 billion over four years to 2026-27 as stated).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Australian organisation
  • be a legal entity with full legal capacity to enter into a project agreement with the Commonwealth
  • have an Australian business number (ABN) and be registered for goods and services tax (GST) if required
  • not be bankrupt or subject to insolvency proceedings
