Fee-free training for apprentices
Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s provides fully subsidised qualification training for eligible apprentices and trainees under 25 in specified high priority qualifications in Queensland.
The Queensland Government pays student contribution/training fees to the apprentice or trainee's supervising registered training organisation (which must hold Skills Assure Supplier status) on behalf of the apprentice or trainee.
The support applies for apprentices or trainees who commenced or are undertaking eligible high priority qualifications from 2021-01-01 to 2027-06-30 and continues to cover training until completion.
To be eligible: be a Queensland business employing a new or existing apprentice or trainee aged under 25 in a high priority apprenticeship or traineeship.
The apprentice or trainee must have commenced or be undertaking one of the high priority apprenticeships or traineeships between 1 January 2021 and 30 June 2027.
The supervising registered training organisation must hold Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) status.
For apprentices and trainees already in training in high priority qualifications when the initiative commenced, fee-free training is available only for units or modules commenced on or after 1 January 2021.
Apprentices and trainees remain covered for the duration of their apprenticeship or traineeship.
