Funding to support abalone shareholders transition to a new management framework
The Abalone Financial Guidance and Training Support Program provides funding to help abalone shareholders transition to a new management framework for the commercial abalone fishery.
It supports financial guidance from suitably accredited advisers and training delivered by Registered Training Organisations.
Applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), be registered for GST, declare in the application that they are not aware of issues that could cause reputational or other risks to the NSW Government, and provide evidence of ownership of a fishing business that includes abalone shares.
Applicants must be a company incorporated in Australia, an incorporated association or co-operative, a partnership, or a sole trader.
For Training Grants, applicants must also provide evidence of having received the act of grace payment made conditional on surrendering all abalone shares.
Eligible project activities must be applied for by 1 June 2027.
Each application must include the documents listed in the application form, including a DPIRD-issued Fishing Business Determination Certificate.
