Rebates for Tasmanian farm vehicles
Provides Tasmanian farmers with a rebate of up to 40% on motor tax for commercial goods vehicles used for agricultural purposes.
Additional concessions may be available on vehicle registration or licence if evidence of entitlement is presented.
To be eligible for the reduction in Motor Tax, you must be a farmer operating in Tasmania.
The vehicle must be a commercial goods vehicle used for agricultural purposes.
Other eligibility criteria apply for further discounts on registration and licensing for vehicles.

Farmers must submit an Application for 40% rebate of motor tax to the registered operator of a commercial goods vehicle who is engaged in agriculture (PDF 167.7 KB) (MR166) — this only needs to be submitted for the initial application.
For healthcare, veteran and pensioner primary cardholders submit an Application for Pension Concession and 40% Motor Tax Rebate (PDF 183.2 KB) (MR163) — this will need to be submitted each time the vehicle is renewed.
If you wish to renew online, you will still need to submit the form in person to claim a refund.
