Funding for VIC farmers to improve drought management and preparedness
Provides grants to Victorian primary production businesses to implement on‑farm infrastructure improvements and essential business activities that improve drought management and preparedness.
To be eligible, you must:
- own, share or lease a primary production business in Victoria (program available in all Victorian LGAs and the unincorporated area of French Island)
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and have that ABN at the time of the program announcement (30 September 2024)
- devote part of your labour to the primary production business
- and either derive more than 50% of gross income from the farm business in an average year OR generate more than $75,000 gross income from the primary production business in an average year
Primary production businesses located in the listed south‑west LGAs (Ararat; Colac Otway; Corangamite; Glenelg; Golden Plains; City of Greater Geelong; Moyne; Pyrenees; Southern Grampians; Surf Coast; Warrnambool; West Wimmera* — *only postcodes 3312, 3317, 3318 and 3319) are eligible for up to $10,000 (excluding GST).
Primary producers in the south‑west that have already received a grant can apply for the difference between what they have already been granted, up to the $10,000 (excluding GST) maximum.
Applicants must complete eligible activities within three months of written in‑principle approval and submit evidence of payment (tax invoices, official receipts or bank statements) to Rural Finance to receive reimbursement.
Applicants are required to cover initial project costs and will be reimbursed the grant amount upon submission of required evidence.
