Funding for energy innovation projects, initiatives and research in the ACT
Overview
The Energy Innovation Fund provides flexible, early-stage grants to support energy transition innovation and investment in the ACT.
It funds a broad range of new and emerging technologies, policy solutions and activities that develop the ACT as an export-oriented hub for clean energy research, innovation and commercialisation.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, lead organisations must:
- have an Australian business number (ABN)
- hold all insurances required by law, including $10 million public liability insurance and workers compensation
- be an ACT based organisation or the majority of the proposed funded activities must occur within the ACT
- demonstrate a contribution to the ACT achieving net-zero emissions by 2045
- be registered for goods and services (GST) if applicable
Further eligibility criteria apply depending on the funding stream being applied for.
Stream-specific eligibility:
- Technology Demonstration Grant is targeted at businesses
- Policy Challenge Grant is open to businesses, research and trades institutions, and think tanks
- Innovation Ecosystem Grant is open to businesses, including non-profits
