Support for commercial horticulture businesses in the Gnangara groundwater allocation plan area
Overview
Provides vouchers to eligible commercial horticulture businesses in the Gnangara groundwater allocation plan area to obtain written expert advice from certified irrigation specialists to develop plans and measures that improve on‑farm water use efficiency and soil health.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible you must:
- own, share‑farm or lease property that you use for commercial horticultural production in the eligible area and identified for a 10% groundwater abstraction reduction from 2028 under the Gnangara Groundwater Allocation Plan (lessee of property must provide landlord consent in writing)
- have a commercial horticultural property located in an eligible groundwater subarea and be subject to the 10% reduction to groundwater abstraction from 2028 under the 2022 Gnangara Groundwater Allocation Plan
- conduct the majority of your primary production business in Western Australia
- operate as a sole trader, partnership, trust or private company
- hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
- be a commercial primary production business (as defined in the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997)
The program is for commercial producers with a water licence or a right to take and use water for an established horticultural business in the eligibility areas.
