GO7036: Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) Rebate Program Round 2
The objective of the Program is to incentivise voluntary uptake of ADS-B equipment in Australian-registered aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) to improve safety and efficiency for Australian airspace users.
The program will provide: better situational awareness for pilots through improved electronic visibility of nearby airborne VFR and IFR aircraft enhanced search and rescue capabilities through improved air traffic information air traffic controllers with additional and accurate automated aircraft position information of VFR aircraft.
The Program funds two classes of eligible ADS-B equipment: installed ADS-B equipment that air traffic controllers can use for aircraft separation purposes (referred to as ADS-B) portable ADS-B equipment for local electronic traffic information purposes (referred to as ADS-B EC).
To be eligible you must be the registered owner of a crewed aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) or Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and shown in an approved registration database (CASA Australian aircraft register for VH aircraft or an approved Australian Sport Aviation organisation such as RAAus, ASRA or SAFA).
You must have purchased and/or installed in your registered aircraft: (a) a device providing ADS-B-OUT functionality or an ADS-B EC device (but not both) after 2021-12-20, or (b) a device providing ADS-B-IN functionality or ADS-B-IN and OUT functionality on or after 2024-06-01.
You must provide a clear copy of the aircraft registration certificate showing you are the registered owner, paid Australian tax invoice(s) or equivalent with evidence of payment showing the purchase/installation date, and for ADS-B installations a signed declaration by an approved installer (template on business.gov.au).
You must declare that you are the registered owner, you incurred the eligible expenditure, the aircraft is located in Australia, and installation (if applicable) was undertaken in Australia.
Claims must be submitted by the application close date.
