Funding for small businesses impacted by the closure of the Great Western highway in NSW

The NSW Government grant supports small businesses affected by the Great Western Highway closure at Victoria Pass from 8 March 2026.

Eligible businesses can receive an initial $5,000 payment, with total support of up to $10,000 or $25,000 depending on their primary business location and subject to demonstrating a qualifying revenue decline.

For the initial $5,000 payment, a business must be physically located in an eligible area, intend to continue operating within the same area, hold an active Australian Business Number (ABN), be registered for GST as of 8 March 2026, employ fewer than 20 full-time staff (or equivalent), and have aggregated turnover of no more than $10 million in the 2024-25 financial year.

To receive the full available grant amount, the applicant must demonstrate a decline in revenue of 40% or more due to the closure of the Great Western Highway.

Eligible locations are NSW postcodes 2785, 2786, 2787 and 2790.

Businesses in Hartley (2790), Hartley Vale (2790), Little Hartley (2790) and Mount Victoria (2786) may be eligible for up to $25,000.

Businesses in Bell, Lowther, Ben Bullen, Marrangaroo, Blackheath, McKellars Park, Blackmans Flat, Megalong Valley, Bowenfels, Morts Estate, Clarence, Mount Irvine, Cobar Park, Mount Lambie, Corney Town, Mount Wilson, Cullen Bullen, Newnes, Dargan, Newnes Plateau, Doctors Gap, Oakey Park, Duckmaloi, Oberon, Ganbenang, Pottery Estate, Good Forest, Rydal, Hampton, Sheedys Gully, Hassans Walls, Sodwalls, Hermitage Flat, South Bowenfels, Jenolan, South Littleton, Kanimbla, State Mine Gully, Lidsdale, Vale of Clwydd, Lithgow, Wolgan Valley, Littleton and Wollangambe may be eligible for up to $10,000.
