GO8187: Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) - Round 19

Overview

This grant supports short-term (up to 3 years), industry-led research collaborations.

Projects must: develop a product, service or process that will solve problems for industry and deliver real outcomes benefit small to medium enterprises (SMEs).

You can use the funding to cover costs directly related to your project including: new research proof of concept activities pre-commercialisation of research outcomes industry-focused education and training activities conferences, workshops, symposia related to the joint research information sharing and communications related to the research.

This is not a complete list and other costs may also be eligible.

There is no specific amount of funding allocated to each CRC-P round.

The number of CRC Projects we fund in each selection round depends on the applications received and available Program funding.

Applicants must at least match the amount of grant funding sought through cash and/or in-kind contributions.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible the lead applicant must:

  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be registered for GST
  • be an SME at lodgement (if part of a consolidated group for tax purposes, the consolidated group must have fewer than 200 employees)
  • and be an entity incorporated in Australia that is a trading corporation (trading activities a substantial part of activities) or an incorporated trustee applying on behalf of a trust

An application must include, as project partners at lodgement: the SME lead applicant, a second Australian industry entity of any size, and an Australian research organisation.

During the project the CRC-P must maintain at least two Australian industry entities (one the lead) and one Australian research organisation.

All partners must make cash and/or in-kind contributions.

Projects must have at least $200,000 total eligible project value.

The maximum project period is 3 years.

Applicants must provide a signed trust deed where applying on behalf of a trust.

Meritorious applications from eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations will be prioritised and must provide an Indigenous Corporation Number (ICN) or Supply Nation registration to be eligible for that prioritisation.

The grant will be up to 50% of total eligible project expenditure.
