Funding for Catholic and independent school infrastructure

Overview

The Capital Grants Program provides funding to Catholic and independent (non‑government) primary and secondary school communities to improve school infrastructure through capital expenditure.

Funding is provided through the relevant state or territory Block Grant Authority under the Australian Education Act 2013 and is additional to funds provided by state/territory governments and school communities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a non‑government primary or secondary school
  • be a member of the relevant state or territory's Block Grant Authority
  • satisfy the Minister that financial assistance is needed and contributes to the objectives of the Capital Grants Program

Schools that receive funding must meet Commonwealth recognition requirements for CGP funding.

Proposed schools (not yet in operation) require approval by the Minister for Education to be eligible.
