GO8197: Red Centre Tourism Development Fund

Program objective The objective of the Program is to develop new and innovative tourism offerings or upgrade existing products and experiences in the Red Centre (Alice Springs, MacDonnell, Barkly and Lasseter tourism regions).

Projects must support a bookable product or experience.

Intended program outcomes renewed tourism interest and activity in the Red Centre development of tourism offerings in the Red Centre region to diversify/compliment gaps in the market increased visitation and spend in the Red Centre improved local employment opportunities increased positive reputation of the Red Centre as a destination Grant amounts The Australian Government has announced a total of $2.5 million program funding for the Red Centre Tourism Development Fund.

The minimum grant amount is $10,000.

The maximum grant amount is $250,000.

You will be required to contribute an amount of cash towards the grant activities.

This amount will be between 25% to 50% of the total cost of the project.

The program will run over the 2025-26 and 2026-27 financial years.

As explicitly stated in the document: applicants must be tourism operators undertaking Activities in the Alice Springs, MacDonnell, Barkly and Lasseter tourism regions.

For projects that upgrade or enhance an existing product or experience, Grantees must contribute a minimum of 50% cash towards total project cost; for projects approved as new and innovative, Grantees must contribute a minimum of 25% cash towards total project cost.

The Grantee cannot use funding from other Commonwealth, state or territory or local government sources to fund its cash contribution (this explicitly includes funding received under the Alice Springs Revival and Resilience Grant Program).

The Grantee must hold the Grant in an account in the Grantee's name with an authorised deposit-taking institution.

The Activity starts on the date of signing the agreement and the Activity Completion Date is 2027-05-15; final reporting and acquittal requirements must be met (final acquittal report due 2027-06-30).

The Grantee must meet the eligibility requirements relating to the National Redress Scheme at all times during the term of the Agreement.

Personnel performing work must be appropriately qualified and comply with relevant police and other checks; where working with children checks are required by law, the Grantee must comply with those requirements.

Records must be kept for 5 years after the Activity Completion Date and financial statements/acquittal must be provided (no later than 30 June 2027).
