Funding for sheep producers impacted by the planned cessation of live sheep exports by sea from 1 May 2028

Overview

The Farm Business Transition Program Round 2 provides funding to sheep producers impacted by the cessation of live sheep exports by sea from 1 May 2028.

Funding supports farm business planning and the adoption of alternative farming systems and practices, including professional advice, training, technology, water and grazing infrastructure improvements.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have an Australian business number (ABN), be registered for goods and services tax (GST), be a resident of Australia for operational and tax purposes, have an account with an Australian financial institution, and be a legal entity.

Applicants must demonstrate that they have actively participated in the live sheep exports by sea industry since 1 July 2020.

Eligible entity types are Company, Cooperative, Incorporated Association, Indigenous Corporation, Partnership, Person and Sole Trader.

Individuals who are not GST registered may apply on behalf of a GST-registered partnership if the partnership agreement is provided.

Where applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust, the Trustee must be an eligible entity type.
