Low interest loans for NSW farmers

Overview

The Drought Ready and Resilient Fund provides low interest loans to eligible NSW primary producers to help prepare for, manage and recover from drought, including investment in animal welfare, farm preparedness, income diversification, environmental improvements, training and business development.

Eligibility Criteria

Explicit eligibility requirements:

  • own or operate a primary production enterprise in NSW where the proposed work is to be carried out
  • operate as a sole trader, partnership, trust or private company trading in agricultural products
  • earn at least 50% of gross income or at least $75,000 in one year from the primary production business, or be a bona fide primary production enterprise
  • be registered with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a primary producer and have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • not have more than $5 million in gross off‑farm assets
  • demonstrate that the farm enterprise is sustainable in the long term and will be able to repay the loan
  • have the security required for the loan
