Rebates for NSW sole traders and small businesses to purchase safety equipment
Overview
A rebate program administered by SafeWork NSW that reimburses small business owners and sole traders for the cost of purchasing and installing eligible workplace safety items to reduce hazards and risks to workers.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible you must:
- be a small business owner or sole trader in NSW with an ABN
- employ between 0-50 full-time equivalent (FTE) workers (charities and not-for-profits must employ between 1-50 FTE)
- have been operating as a business for at least 6 months
- be conducting a commercial business producing goods or providing services in NSW and fall under the scope of the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011
- have completed an eligible SafeWork NSW education activity (or had an eligible advisory visit from a SafeWork NSW inspector) in the 12 months prior to applying
- buy and install eligible safety equipment
- supply required evidence (ABN, proof of business operation, proof of eligible education activity or inspector reference number, invoices/receipts and proof of payment dated up to 12 months prior to application)
The application must be in the name of the registered business owner and signed by them.
Applicants must not have received a small business rebate from SafeWork or WorkCover NSW (see exclusions).
