Funding for greening projects within the City of Melbourne
Provides matched, dollar-for-dollar grants to support new greening projects on private property within the City of Melbourne, including green walls, green roofs, tree and biodiversity planting, laneway greening and water sensitive urban design.
Applications will be accepted from residents, business owners, owners' corporations, community groups, building owners and developers, educational institutions and Greening Melbourne permit holders.
To be eligible, greening projects must:
- be located within the City of Melbourne
- be primarily focused on creating a new greening project
- demonstrate community and environmental benefits
- be publicly accessible or visible to others
- have a clear plan for long-term maintenance
- be located on land owned by the applicant or, where on private property not owned by the applicant, have written consent from the property owner
- or be on public land allowed to be greened via a Greening Melbourne permit
