GO8550: Our Marine Parks Grants – Round 5

The Australian Government is inviting organisations in an open process to apply to deliver services under the Our Marine Parks Grants Program, nationally, from June 2027 to May 2030.

The objectives of the grant opportunity are to promote actions that align with the management programs of Australian Marine Parks Management Plans to: support Traditional Owners to: document and maintain their traditional knowledge, cultural sites and values associated with Sea Country in and adjacent to Australian Marine Parks participate in the management of Sea Country in Australian Marine Parks and in adjacent waters enhance community capacity and participation in marine park management, including through improved understanding of social and environmental values protect marine parks from threats and pressures, to minimise damage, and to improve the resilience of marine parks support relevant industries to understand and engage in marine park management – commercial and recreational fishing and tourism for example improve awareness and understanding of Australian Marine Parks and their management arrangements support compliance by marine park users improve scientific knowledge through research and monitoring in line with: Australian Marine Parks Science Priorities and/or the demonstrated priorities of First Nations groups with a connection to Australian Marine Parks.

Note: if your project includes a component in adjacent waters, ensure you tell us in your application how this component contributes to Australian Marine Park management.

Applicants must be a Company, Cooperative, Corporate Commonwealth Entity, Corporate State or Territory Entity, Incorporated Association, Indigenous Corporation, Local Government, Non-corporate Commonwealth Statutory Authority, Non-corporate State or Territory Entity, Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority, or Statutory Entity.

A trustee applying on behalf of a trust must itself be an eligible entity type and provide the signed trust deed and subsequent variations.

Consortia may apply where the lead applicant is an eligible entity and is solely accountable to the Commonwealth.

Applicants must have an account with an Australian financial institution, certify that the proposed project does not duplicate already underway government-funded management actions at the proposed location, and certify that they have no overdue Australian Government funding reports, acquittals or debts that would impede project delivery.

Grant activities must relate to one or more Australian Marine Parks; activities outside a marine park may be considered where they make a significant contribution to program outcomes.
