Helping redundant automotive workers find new employment

Overview

The Automotive Industry Structural Adjustment Programme helped workers made redundant from the automotive manufacturing industry find new employment by providing tailored assistance through a jobactive provider and funding to support re-employment.

The program offered a range of services (e.g. résumé help, training, work experience) and up to $1300 to help pay for work-related items, training and new job support.

Eligibility Criteria

For workers who were made redundant from the automotive manufacturing industry.

This program provided support if you were affected by the closure of Australia’s car manufacturing industry.

You could have connected with a jobactive provider to help you with résumé preparation, job applications, interview skills, training to obtain tickets or licences, work experience and any other assistance to find new employment.

Jobactive providers would also have helped you to build a job plan, including activities to help you get skills that local employers want, connections to other support from government and help to look for jobs each month.
