Funding for Western Australian farmers' markets operators

Overview

Grants for Western Australian farmers’ market operators to support business operations, build capability and deliver a financially sustainable business model.

Funding can be used for infrastructure, planning and compliance, marketing, market development and one-off projects that contribute to ongoing financial sustainability.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Stage 2 funding round, applicants must:

  • have a current Australian business number (ABN)

  • have undertaken the Stage 1 training workshop

Access to the scheme is open to both existing markets and those under development that comply with, or would like to consider complying with the Australian Farmers Market Association (AFMA) recommended guidelines:

  • the farmers’ market is run by a community-based, not-for-profit association, social enterprise, co-operative or company with that purpose
  • all produce must be sold by the farmer/producer, family member, or employee directly involved with the growing, rearing, catching or manufacturing of the product (co-operative farming ventures may be included at the discretion of the individual farmers’ market)
