GO8227: National Community Hubs Program

The Australian Government is inviting one organisation via a restricted process to apply to deliver services under the National Community Hubs Program (NCHP) from 2025–26 to 2028–29.

The purpose of the NCHP is to provide assistance to refugees, humanitarian entrants and migrants to become self-reliant and participate equitably in Australian society as soon as possible.

The objectives of the grant are to: support refugees, humanitarian entrants, migrants and their children to strengthen English language skills and cultural awareness while building social networks enable refugees, humanitarian entrants, migrants and their families, to access support services, in a safe, family friendly environment provide an emphasis on early childhood development to improve educational readiness and outcomes for children of hub participants continue delivering the established network of hubs expand the network of community hubs into new regions including Tasmania, the Northern Territory and regional Queensland and/or other locations in consultation with and agreed in writing by the Department to fulfil the 2025 election commitments to support multicultural communities as outlined in Labor’s costed plan to Build Australia’s Future.

The intended outcomes of the grant are to: improve access and engagement with existing services, such as language, employment, skills development and health, for families and individuals from a migrant, refugee, or humanitarian background increase learning outcomes for children contribute to social cohesion by enhancing the capacity of community organisations and service providers to reach out to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities improve language, literacy and learning outcomes for refugees, humanitarian entrants and migrants, including for isolated parents, and provide early learning activities for their children improve pathways to employment through educational and social programs.

To be eligible the applicant must be the listed invited organisation and have received an invitation to apply through GrantConnect (the invited organisation is Community Hubs Australia Limited, ABN 44 671 083 883).

Grant funding cannot be provided where an organisation receives funding from another government source for the same purpose that is not considered a co-contribution.

If successful, all personnel working on the grant activity must maintain, as applicable in their state or territory, a Working with Vulnerable People registration and a Working with Children check.

Applicants must comply with Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) requirements where applicable and must not be on relevant non-compliant lists.
