Grants to early to mid-stage critical minerals projects to grow end-to-end supply chains with Australia’s international partners.
Funding supports activities such as pilot plants, feasibility studies, capacity expansions, infrastructure scoping and R&D collaboration that are substantially undertaken in Australia and related to critical minerals on Australia’s Critical Minerals List.
Applicants must be incorporated in Australia and be a trading corporation with an ABN/ACN.
Eligible entities must have an ABN/ACN, be non-income-tax-exempt and be registered for GST.
Projects must be early to mid-stage and occur between the post-exploration and final investment decision stages of the project.
Activities must be substantially undertaken in Australia and produce or be planning to produce critical mineral(s) as listed in Australia’s Critical Minerals List.
International partners must take an active involvement in the project; evidence of the relationship (which may be a letter of support) must be provided at application stage and a formal arrangement must be in place with all parties prior to execution of the grant agreement.
Applications are submitted online via the portal; mandatory attachments only (collective limit 20MB).
Projects can commence from the time a notification of a successful application is received, but the Commonwealth is not liable for activities or expenditure before the grant agreement is executed.
