Funding for primary producers and businesses impacted by North QLD monsoon trough, associated Cyclone Koji and severe weather

Overview

Provides one-off Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants to directly impacted primary producers and small businesses affected by the North Queensland Monsoon Trough, associated Tropical Cyclone Koji and severe weather (commencing 24 December 2025) to assist with clean-up and reinstatement costs.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible applicants must:

  • hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and have held that ABN at the time of the disaster
  • be located in the defined disaster area for the eligible disaster and have suffered direct damage as a result of the disaster
  • be primarily responsible for meeting the costs claimed in the application
  • have been engaged in carrying on the primary production enterprise or small business when affected by the eligible disaster
  • and intend to re-establish the undertaking in the same area

Primary producer definition (as per Guidelines) includes sole traders, partnerships, companies or trusts meeting the scheme's tests (majority labour and/or majority income or demonstrable production potential).

Evidence requirements include rates notice/lease agreement, 5–10 photographs of damage, financial statements/tax returns, insurance details/certificate of insurance and, depending on claim size, invoices and evidence of payment.
