Funding for eligible flood impacted SA primary producers for transport or freight costs
A targeted subsidy for primary producers located within the 2025 Inland River Flood scar to reimburse part of significant extra transport or freight costs incurred for animal welfare management following the 2025 flooding event.
The subsidy covers eligible transport and freight activities such as mustering, transport of fodder or water, and transport of livestock, fencing, equipment or machinery.
Eligible primary producers must have a primary production livestock business located within the 2025 Inland River Flood scar at the time of the flood event which resulted in direct impact.
Grant funding is only available for eligible activities incurred between 15 April 2025 and 30 April 2026.
Eligible activities include:
- mustering of livestock (cattle) on the property at the time of the flood for safety reasons
- transport of fodder or water for livestock resulting from the impact of floodwaters
- and transport of livestock, fencing, equipment or machinery associated with animal welfare
Eligible primary producers may apply for one grant per primary production business for 50% of the total eligible transport or freight costs, up to a maximum of $5,000 (ex GST).
