Rebates for VIC drought impacted farmers to help them control kangaroo numbers
Overview
This rebate program provides financial assistance to drought-affected Victorian farmers to help control eastern and western grey kangaroos on their property by subsidising the cost of engaging accredited professional harvesters operating under an approved Authority to Control Wildlife (ATCW).
Rebates are paid per farm (GST exclusive) and can be claimed multiple times while funds remain available.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, primary producers must:
- own, share or lease a primary production business in Victoria
- hold a current Australian Business Number (ABN)
- hold an approved Authority to Control Wildlife (ATCW)
- use an authorised professional harvester, with accreditation from the Game Management Authority
Applicants must engage an accredited professional harvester authorised by the Game Management Authority (no tag purchase needed).
