GO7530: Tertiary Access Payment Program Guidelines 2025-2027
Overview
Program guidelines for the Tertiary Access Payment (TAP).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible you must:
- have your family home located in an inner regional, outer regional, remote or very remote area as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS)
- have completed Year 12 or an equivalent qualification and commenced your first year of a qualifying tertiary course (Certificate IV or above) of minimum one academic year
- have relocated to study at an eligible education provider (VET provider delivering Cert IV+, non‑university higher education provider, or university) at least 90 minutes by public transport from your family home OR have relocated to and be registered with and accessing an approved Regional University Study Hub or Suburban University Study Hub at least 90 minutes by public transport from your family home
- be enrolled in at least 75% of a normal full‑time study load (or have an approved concessional study load)
- be studying face‑to‑face for at least part of the course or be in a dual delivery course with mandatory face‑to‑face component
- demonstrate combined parental income of $250,000 or below in the relevant tax year (unless exempt)
- meet Australian citizenship/residency requirements (per Glossary)
- be within the minimum/maximum age rules (minimum 16 years unless specific exceptions apply; maximum 22 years at course commencement)
Applicants must provide required evidence and apply in the calendar year they commence their first year of study.
