Loans for Queensland primary producers and commercial fishers

Overview

Concessional Sustainability Loans for Queensland primary producers and commercial fishers to invest in infrastructure, equipment and activities that improve farm/fishery sustainability, drought and disaster preparedness, environmental outcomes and business viability.

Eligibility Criteria

Who is this for: Queensland primary producers and commercial fishers (Queensland-based).

Sustainability Loans are for existing Queensland-based primary production businesses and commercial wild-catch fishing businesses.

Applications are assessed by QRIDA in date order for the 2025-2026 financial year up to 30 June 2026 or until scheme lending is fully committed.

Security must be provided commensurate with the loan amount (for most loans a mortgage over land; may include other business assets such as water or livestock).

QRIDA may consider joint lending options with banks or other commercial lenders.

Small-scale rural worker accommodation is eligible if it meets relevant Planning Act requirements and other loan criteria (temporary planning exemptions until December 2025 may apply in some cases).

Applicants should speak to their Regional Area Manager and check the guidelines.
