Funding for NSW small businesses directly impacted by the Bondi Beach terrorist attack

Overview

Financial assistance for small businesses directly impacted by the Bondi Beach terrorist attack on 14 December 2025 to help cover clean-up, repairs, replacement of lost or damaged stock, or loss of income due to business disruption.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible the small business must:

  • be registered for GST
  • have an aggregated annual turnover of more than $75,000 for the year ended June 2025

To apply for the initial payment the business must have:

  • been located and operating in the impacted area at the time of the terrorist attack (14 December 2025)
  • had a valid and active ABN on 14 December 2025
  • employed less than 20 full-time (or equivalent) staff at that time

To be eligible to make a second claim (up to $20,000) the business must show it suffered business disruption because of the terrorist attack and must provide evidence that total loss to the business exceeds $5,000, including evidence of physical damage (quotes, estimates, invoices, photographs) or evidence of loss of income (letter from a qualified independent accountant showing turnover for 14 Dec 2025–13 Jan 2026 and 14 Dec 2024–13 Jan 2025).

For sole trader applications claiming loss of income where there are no full-time employees other than the applicant, the business must be the applicant's primary source of income and a tax return must show 50% or more of total income is derived from the impacted business.

Each eligible small business is limited to one application and a maximum of 2 claims per application.
