Funding for installation of safety and security infrastructure
Overview
The Secure Communities Partnership Program (Queensland) provides grants to help small and family businesses and local councils install safety and security infrastructure to deter crime and reduce its cost and impact.
Eligible projects include alarm systems, access control and entry management, surveillance and detection, lighting and environmental security, and physical security measures.
Eligibility Criteria
From the page:
- To be eligible applicants must: have less than 20 employees (by headcount)
- have a turnover of $10 million or less in the 2024-25 financial year (aggregated turnover as defined in the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997)
- have been significantly impacted by crime (overview: in the past 3 years — defined as when a police report and/or crime-related insurance claim has been made)
- (How to apply section) have been directly impacted by crime in the past 5 years or operate in a location within a 250 metre radius of offences impacting nearby commercial premises within the past 5 years
- have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
- have a minimum trading history of one year
- be registered for goods and services tax (GST) as per ABR record
- be located in Queensland / have a registered Queensland headquarters location as per ABR record
- not be insolvent
- not have owners/directors that are currently bankrupt or undischarged from bankruptcy
- not be a subsidiary of a group of companies that has 20 or more employees in total
Applicants must maintain this eligibility for the duration of the funded project.
