Grants to sponsor students to take part in STEM events, activities and competitions
Provides funding to eligible organisations to sponsor Australian students to take part in virtual or in-person STEM engagement events, activities and competitions hosted in Australia or overseas.
Grants fund travel and participation costs with per-student caps for domestic and international events.
Eligible organisations, such as schools and community groups, can apply on behalf of a student or group of students.
Funding will be provided through two Streams based on the Index of Community Socio-educational Advantage (ICSEA) value of the school that the involved student or group of students are enrolled at:
- Stream 1 for schools with an ICSEA value of 1000 or below (at least $800,000 available)
- Stream 2 for schools with an ICSEA value of 1001 or above (up to $800,000 available)
The grant amount will be up to 100% of eligible project costs.
The minimum grant amount is $1,500 and the maximum grant amount is $15,000.
The maximum grant amount per student is $2,000 for events occurring within Australia and $5,000 for events requiring international travel.
You may submit multiple applications for the same STEM event, activity or competition, noting the combined total amount of those applications cannot exceed $15,000.
