GO7718: Commonwealth Prac Payment (Vocational Education and Training) Program
Overview
The Commonwealth Prac Payment – Vocational Education and Training (CPP (VET)) grant will assist eligible students to manage the costs associated with undertaking a mandatory practicum placement as part of a Diploma of Nursing qualification.
Eligibility Criteria
At the time of application (and for subsequent claims) the applicant must:
- be a domestic student (Australian citizen; or permanent resident; or a New Zealand passport holder with at least six months residence in Australia)
- be studying a Diploma of Nursing through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- be undertaking a full-time mandatory prac placement averaging a minimum of 30 hours or more per week as part of the Diploma of Nursing
- and either (a) be currently in receipt of one of the listed eligible Commonwealth Income Support Payments (Centrelink payments including Age Pension, Austudy, Carer Payment, Disability Support Pension, JobSeeker Payment, Parenting Payment, Special Benefit, Farm Household Allowance, Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY, ABSTUDY Living Allowance; or DVA payments including Age Pension, Income Support Supplement, Service Pension, Veteran Payment, DVA Education Allowance) OR (b) meet the need-to-work test by working more than 60 hours across a continuous 4-week period (an average of more than 15 hours per week) during a study period immediately prior to application and not earning more than an average of $1,500 per week gross in that same 4-week period (including equivalent state/territory placement assistance)
Applicants must provide required documentary evidence and continue to meet eligibility for all claims.
