Funding for health and medical research infrastructure
Provides grants to establish and extend infrastructure of critical importance for world-class health and medical research addressing areas of unmet medical need.
Funding is provided through four streams targeting innovation enablers, digitisation/AI in healthcare, co-investment partnerships, and mRNA technology enablers.
An eligible organisation who can support innovative medical research projects to improve health benefits for Australians.
An application may only be submitted to one of the four Streams.

Applicants must specify the Stream to which they are applying in their application. (Stream-specific scope:
- Stream 1 addresses unmet medical need via new research methodologies or applications including omics-led approaches and enhanced infrastructure linkage strategies
- Stream 2 translates/implements innovative AI technologies into health applications that benefit multiple health disciplines, involve consumers, and increase AI workforce capacity and capability
- Stream 3 uses co-investment (cash only) for significant critical research infrastructure to support research capacity, capability or enable Australian research using new platforms/systems/services
- Stream 4 leverages and enhances mRNA technologies, platforms and/or equipment to accelerate mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutics in areas of unmet medical need.)
