Rebates for small businesses located in the Barwon region to implement water saving initiatives
The WaterSmart Business Rebate helps eligible small businesses and community groups in the Barwon (VIC) service region install water-efficient products and make water-saving improvements.
Rebates are paid as 50% of eligible expenditure (product plus installation and delivery) up to a maximum of $1,500 per eligible property or organisation.
To be eligible for a WaterSmart Business Rebate the business customer must:
- be located within Barwon Water's service region and have a property connected to mains drinking water
- be a Barwon Water customer whose property is charged a non-residential water charge
- have a current Australian Business Number (ABN)
- have 50 or fewer full time equivalent (FTE) employees
For a community group:
- be located within Barwon Water's service region and have a property connected to mains drinking water
- be a registered association, charity, volunteer group, or incorporated body and have a bank account in the group or charity organisation name (not a private bank account)
- have not previously received grant or rebate funding from Barwon Water (as stated in eligibility notes)
Eligible products and services are listed in Schedule 1.
Eligible product purchases and installations must be new (refurbished or second-hand products are not eligible) and must have been purchased and installed at or for the serviced property between 2025-10-01 and 2026-06-30.
Eligible products referred to in Schedule 1 must be paid in full before an application form can be submitted.
Proof of purchase, photos and other supporting documents (original receipt showing proof of purchase/payment and clear product description, photos of old fittings and completed project, Plumbing Industry Commission (PIC) certificate of compliance if required, evidence of recycling for old washing machines/dishwashers/glasswashers) must accompany the online claim form.
